Cabernet
This lavishly oaked wine blends ripe black-fruit flavors with abundant baking spice, wood smoke and maple tones. It is big but fairly soft in structure, with moderate tannins that give it a seductive, extravagant edge.
Known for taking the road less traveled, Michael David Winery has always stood apart from the crowd. Whether it be their outlandish brands and packaging or their quirky personalities, Michael and David are definitely on a stage of their own and this wine showcases just that. The fruit for this wine comes from the original “super freak” himself, Michael Phillips’ Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard located only a medicine balls toss away from the winery.

Michael David’s 2018 Freakshow Cabernet sets the stage with aromas of Bing cherry, fig, strawberry jam and a hint of baking spice. He is larger-than-life, medium in body and showcases flavors of bright red fruits, toasted hazelnut and clove with a fruit-forward, lingering finish.

Freakshow Red is a mash-up of man meets wild…Syrah’s untamed and mysterious allure is refined and polished with the addition of Petite Sirah. Prepare your eyes and taste buds for a FREAK like no other!
TASTING NOTES
Like the Wolfman himself, this beast of a blend is wild, unruly and like no other! Composed of Syrah, Petite Sirah and Souzao, the 2018 showing of Freakshow Red unveils aromas of ripe plum, espresso and salted caramel on the nose. Medium in body, flavors of crushed summer berries, sweet tobacco and allspice are carried through by a lengthy, guided finish.
